Tryptophan Triathlon

I did a TRIATHLON! So did Jessica, my dad, Steven, Chelsea, Natalee Christensen, Josh Rittmanic, and Sariah Stapp. It was a sprint triathlon which is a lot smaller than the regular ones. I feel like I have to say that but this was still a good challenge for me. It was fun training with my sister Jess. We turned girls night into meeting at the gym to bike and run while watching Biggest Loser to prepare ourselves for the big day. It's kind of cool to be exercising while watching other people on TV really pushing themselves at the same time. The course included a 11.6 mile bike ride, a 2.85 mile run, and a 10 station obstacle course incorporating interval training drills, sport skill enhancement skills (coordination required), and strong man competition events.

It was a lot of fun because of my family and friends that were involved. I would never consider doing a real triathlon or even a marathon but I would do this event or a 10k if I get to do it while spending time with friends and family. I love being social and I strangely enough I also loves to sweat because sweat means I am pushing myself and I am strong. To be able to socialize and sweat at the same time is a pretty awesome combination.

I should mention my dad was the oldest contestant to finish! Way to go dad! And Congrats to Jess for getting the Honorable Mention award. Thanks Jess for setting this goal for yourself and encouraging me to participate! You are doing a great job at transforming yourself inside and out. Josh gave up competing in the race to make sure everybody's bikes were staying together, and that everybody felt encouraged and supported. Thanks Josh! You get an award in my book.

I need to call you. We have so much to catch up on. My phone kind of cut out in your message when you were telling me the dream... I'd love to hear. And I totally wish I had a walking partner again too! Miss you!
