I have this thing with being efficient and I am pretty sure I was born this way. Sometimes my slightly eccentric desire to be efficient proves to be a nuisance. I love using a bottle of lotion or makeup until it is completely gone and I mean 100%. Have you ever experienced throwing an absolutely positively empty bottle of product away? Ok, it's really not that amazing yet bottle after bottle I aim for the 100% before I throw it away. Some people throw them away when clearly there is more product inside. If they only would cut the container open and wipe the sides they could probably enjoy 3-4 more days of product. During this process the obligation to use every drop seems to weaken to the desire to just chuck the bottle. The lurking temptation surfaces to bathe myself in the bottle's remnants just to be done with it and know I still used every drop. When it is finally disposed of I can then consider a new product of some sort. Where can point my finger for my inherent unconventional trait?....Mom?
Is it throwing a container that is 100% empty that fills me with satisfaction? Or is it knowing I didn't succumb to the pressures of the media to indulge myself and own excessive amounts of things? Perhaps it is realizing how I extended the life of the product by being thrifty that drives this strange trait? Sometimes I feel like I was hard wired to live like the world around me was in crisis mode.

Hey, some people "live like they were dyin' " as the country song goes, you just live like you survived living in the depression with a bottle of lotion you made last 10 years after the depression was over. There's nothing wrong with that. It's thrifty. Thrifty and nifty. And that doesn't happen to often.
